Transitional Spring Outfit Under $100!

Hey friends! Happy Saturday! This is a post I’m SO excited to share with you. In Northern California, we’re getting into temperatures 70s and up! No rain in sight… which makes me really sad because I LOVE the rain and cloudy weather. BUT. Looking on the bright side (hehe, get it?), I love spending time outside and not having my hair frizz as soon as I step outside. This beautiful Saturday morning, Matt and I visited City Garden Doughnut shop, a fairly new establishment to Santa Rosa. I’ve heard people gushing over their doughnuts, so we decided to give it a try, and boy… DANGER!!! These doughnuts are SO good, I wanted all of them! But I did stop myself at 1 doughnut and a nitro-brewed coffee. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend this place!! Look them up here. Okay, now on to the fashion-side of this post. I picked up this entire outfit (minus the bag) at Target the other day and let me tell you… I’m in LOVE with it! The entire ensemble (down to the socks) was under $100!!! The jeans were on clearance for $14, and I think you can never have too many black […]

A Sunday Well Spent…

Have you guys ever heard that saying? “A Sunday well spent brings a week’s worth of content?” I couldn’t agree more! I spent this Sunday taking my beautiful best friend’s engagement photos. They’re currently uploading, but SOOC (straight out of camera) they look breathtaking! I can’t wait to share them with you all! AND I can’t wait for her WEDDING!! AHHH. ANYWHO- this outfit brings me total content. I bought this loose-neck charcoal sweater from a local boutique, Bow n Arrow recently and I’ve been wearing it every day since! It’s so comfy-cozy-chic, and the best part? You can wear it dressy or casual. I wore it out just like this with a bralette and booties. Today, I was going for a more casual look so I dressed it down with my hair in a messy bun, leggings, and knee-high boots. I love how you can make this sweater sexy for date night or cute and cozy for a day out running errands… Plus, it was under $40! Score! Head on over to Bow n Arrow boutique in Cotati or San Rafael to snag one up! I hope you guys are having a great Sunday, and have an even more […]

Reading List | January 2018

Welcome! Today I’m sharing some of the books on my reading list for January! Some I’ve read, some I need to finish, and some I’ll keep reading throughout the year. 1. First off, How to be Parisian Wherever You Are by Anne Berest. I bought this actually in Paris. It’s a funny read, with modern Parisiennes taking you through dinner parties, the first date, outfits, and hangovers. “Chic and desirable, How to be Parisian Wherever You Are will make you laugh as you tap into your inner cool.” So. True. I love the aesthetic of this book as well as the content inside. I have this sitting on my coffee table because it’s a great conversation starter and I love when my guests pick it up and start to chuckle! 2. Next, You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I haven’t started reading this one yet, but I see it EVERYWHERE! I haven’t had a ton of time to dive into reading, but this one is definitely next on the list. Plus, I thought it was fitting- new year, new me… “Stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life.” Are you sold? ‘Cause I sure am! What do you guys think […]

Stylish Work-Wear | Boyfriend Blazer

If you read my first blog post, you’d know that I love a good blazer- and keep really good care of one. I’ve never met a blazer I didn’t like. Well, this blazer has been my favorite go-to power jacket for work and play. I bought this at Target a few months ago when it was 500 degrees outside, and now that the weather is getting cooler here in California, it’s now the perfect temperament to wear this bad boy (girl?). It’s technically considered a boyfriend blazer, but I don’t get into the nitty-gritty details. All I really want you to know about this jacket is that it’s cute, versatile, and so super stylish. One of the things I love most about this jacket is that it’s long so you can layer it over leggings to cover your butt or have a more masculine-look by pairing it with a slouchy tee, boyfriend jeans, and sneakers. Today, I paired it with a black bouse (also Target), black skinny jeans, and… mules. More. Mules. Thanks, Target. Okay, so true story… I’m totally NOT comfortable in front of the camera. I’m usually the photographer, not the subject. So the fact that these photos came out the […]

Simple-Edgy-Chic Style

2018 is here! And here I am, hiding under my hat! I have worn this hat almost every day since I bought it… last Thursday! LOL! I highly recommend you getting yourself one… it’s definitely worth $12.99! It was my first day back to work since the New Year and I was definitely feelin’ it this morning. So, I threw on something simple and comfy; my favorite jeans, flannel, and shoes. This is my go-to outfit when I’m wanting something easy but stylish. Plus, this entire outfit was under $100- so, score! Since 2018 started on a Monday, I thought this would make me more motivated to wipe the slate clean. Nope. What did I have for dinner? Chips and a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup! I hope I’m not the only one saying, “diet starts tomorrow…” ANYWAYS. I am starting my Ketogenic diet tomorrow (Wednesday), and I’m more motivated than ever! I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the keto diet and how I do it, so I was thinking about doing a Q & A blog post on my Keto lifestyle. Let me know in the comments section if you’re interested! Until then, I’m enjoying my last Sprite and bite of […]

Goodbye 2017…

Well, 2018 is just about here! While I’m usually very sad that the holidays are over, I’m actually pretty excited for what this year has in store. I’m excited to spend more time curating content for my blog, getting closer to getting my graphic design degree, and we’ve got some trips planned, too!   2 0 1 7   R E C A P //   For starters, my photography and graphic design have really taken off. (Yes, I do that, too!!) I’ve had the opportunity to brand two salons, photograph four weddings and tons of family clients. All without advertising myself… so that was a huge accomplishment! One of the main reasons why I haven’t advertised my side businesses this year is because – well – I’ve got a lot going on. I’ve been trying to just be “still” with my life, and let things come as they do. And they did! I love my clients and am so grateful for them, as I wouldn’t be where I am without them. We became San Francisco Giants Baseball Season Ticket Holders. Talk about a lifelong dream come true. Matt and I both have loved the Giants since we were kids and […]

Saturday at the Ballet

The New Year is almost here! Is anyone else as excited as I am?! Before celebrating the new year, we had one more fun day trip planned… Matt surprised me with tickets to see the Nutcracker Ballet in San Francisco for Christmas! Can you believe I’ve never seen the Nutcracker Ballet?! I don’t dress “fancy” very often, so I was totally stressing about what to wear. I took my lunch break and went to Target and searched and searched, but couldn’t find anything. After work, I went back to Target determined to find something! And, alas, there she was. This beautiful velvet shift dress, just waiting there for me to pick her up. I didn’t even have to try it on before I knew I had found “the one.” 🙂 Since I’m 5’9″, I can barely wear heels without being as tall (or taller) than Matt, so I opted for some studded booties since I knew we’d be walking around the city some. Let me tell you, best. choice. ever. I picked up some black tights, threw on my black peacoat and put on some hot pink lipstick to add some color to my all-black ensemble. I love that this […]

One Month Blogging Anniversary

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Hey guys! Guess what… I made it one month! 10 blog posts, many sleepless nights and a lot of failed photo shoots, now here we are! I figured I would do a recap of my first month anniversary, share my experiences and my goals for the future. Sound good? Okay cool. Let me just start by saying that blogging. is. hard.  It really is. You literally have to plan everything. Yes, everything. Every Instagram, Tweet, Pinterest Pin, Facebook post, etc. When people have asked me how my blog is going, my main answer is, “Great! Now I know why people blog full-time.” It takes a lot of work, and this is a total misconception between bloggers // non-bloggers. Now, I can barely call myself a blogger, but I’m serious- it’s REALLY hard work. But, it’s SO rewarding. After my Men’s Gift Guide was published, I had a few people come up to me saying that they had bought things from my guide. I literally stood there with a blank stare in awe that someone actually read my blog. It was such a rewarding feeling! I don’t make any commission off of anything I do, so […]

Saturday Shopping

Today Matt and I had a day of errand-running, so I threw on something comfy-cozy and headed out the door! I just bought this duster sweater from a local boutique in Cotati, and I had to get some wear-time! It’s a beautiful oatmeal color, and it’s SO comfy. More details below! We haven’t spent some time together in a while, so it was nice to get out together and run around town. We went to pick up my wedding ring from the jewelers, as I hadn’t had it cleaned in over a year! (shh…). We then ran some Christmas gifts errands for our out-of-towners so we could get them in the mail to make it by Christmas. Tonight we’re going to be baking some cookies and watching TV together! Honestly, it has been so long since we could actually spend time with each other. I’m constantly working or at school so our schedules haven’t lined up for a while. I’m so excited to be spending some one-on-one quality time with the hubs. OK back to business. This is my FIRST outfit post on The Down Low! I’m so excited / nervous / shy / impressed about this. I’m a photographer, so I’m usually behind […]
