The New Year is almost here! Is anyone else as excited as I am?! Before celebrating the new year, we had one more fun day trip planned…
Matt surprised me with tickets to see the Nutcracker Ballet in San Francisco for Christmas! Can you believe I’ve never seen the Nutcracker Ballet?! I don’t dress “fancy” very often, so I was totally stressing about what to wear. I took my lunch break and went to Target and searched and searched, but couldn’t find anything.
After work, I went back to Target determined to find something! And, alas, there she was. This beautiful velvet shift dress, just waiting there for me to pick her up. I didn’t even have to try it on before I knew I had found “the one.” 🙂 Since I’m 5’9″, I can barely wear heels without being as tall (or taller) than Matt, so I opted for some studded booties since I knew we’d be walking around the city some. Let me tell you, best. choice. ever. I picked up some black tights, threw on my black peacoat and put on some hot pink lipstick to add some color to my all-black ensemble.
I love that this dress can be worn all year ’round. You can wear it for Christmas with black tights; New Year’s with sequined or sparkly tights and heels; Valentine’s Day with red pumps and red lipstick; Graduation parties; bachelorette parties; – YOU NAME IT! Plus, I bought it on sale, so I’m definitely going to get my money’s worth out of it!
I was SO excited to dress up and head to San Francisco for a date with my hubby; we hadn’t been to SF since the last Giants game in September. We had such a fun time and I can definitely see myself going again! Next show: The Book of Mormon and the Symphony!
When we have babies and IF I have a little girl, I want to make this a Christmas tradition. There were so many little girls and boys there just staring at the dancers in awe- myself included! Have you guys been to the Nutcracker before? If so, let me know when you saw your first show!
Later today or tomorrow I’ll be sharing a recap of 2017 and my personal / business goals for 2018. (I hate the word Resolutions, I like Goals waaaaay better).
PLUS- may or may not be having another giveaway!! Stay tuned!
